Trusting the Lord

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong.

Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for. Glorify God with all your wealth, honoring him with your firstfruits, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!

Proverbs 3:5-10

Trust.

This might be a word/ topic that some of us may struggle with. Possibly someone breaking our trust or multiple people on different occasions. It's hard to build trust with someone again when they have done something to hurt us. Have you ever thought to yourself if you trust the Lord? Maybe you have thought about it and it's easy for you to say yes, or maybe just the opposite.

I have found myself in some situations where I am brought back to the fact that it's possible I do not trust the Lord completely. With some parts of my life yes, with other parts it seems I want to take control and do it my way. I don't think I do this consciously but when things seem to go the wrong way I am brought to a low place and in reflecting with the Lord he reminds me that I am not trusting Him.

It may be easy for us to trust in the lord with parts of our lives. He wants us to trust Him with all of it, every single part of our lives. Not just with our finances, with our everyday needs, with our jobs and families but also with our relationships, with our futures, with our health, and with our relationship with Him. Trusting His heart and intentions towards us is so important. We have to ask ourselves what we think we trust him with and that parts we don't. Revealing this to us so we can begin to lay those things down before him.

Trusting in, and just simply trusting Him means we believe in Him, and we trust that He won't wrong us. We know that He works for our good because He is a good Father who loves us. Why do go to a place where we question Him and believe the opposite. I think it happens when things aren't going the way we want and when we see that we choose to do it on our own or rush the process. If we just pause and stand before Him with our hands wide open fully trusting in Him with our lives everything will fall into place perfectly. If we can grasp this concept our relationship with Him would be so much stronger our trust would go so deep. I'm praying that I can begin to see the places I don't trust Him so that I can hand it back.

My prayer for you

Father, thank you for being honest with me with us and the places we can go deep in relationship with you. Help us to see the places we aren't trusting you. Lord we want to adore you with undivided devotion and as we allow ourselves to walk this way would we find the refreshment we need. As you begin to chip away at these things we become free. We want to give it all to you and the places in our hearts where we want to hold on without releasing would you begin to soften those parts and our grip begin to loosen. Thank you Lord, Father we don't want to trust in our own understanding if we do this we begin to fail and struggle. Cause our hearts to rely on you completely. In Jesus Holy and precious name

Amen.
