Why Faith, Hope, & Love?

Updated: May 27, 2020

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

New Living Translation

The name of our foundation comes from 1 Corinthians 13:13. In the New Living Translation, it reads “Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.” Here at the foundation we have FAITH that the work we do will provide HOPE to those who are struggling as we show the LOVE of Jesus through our words and our actions. While this verse has definitely  inspired the work that we do here, it means and offers so much more!

The bible defines FAITH as the “assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1. There are many things that all of us are hoping for. We hope for this pandemic to end before anyone we know suffers from it. We hope for a job that will pay for a decent place to live, or any place to live for that matter. We hope that this situation we are currently in will only be temporary, and that our lives will get easier and better. Faith means that, even though we can’t see how any of those things are going to happen, that they will happen!! The reason that LOVE is the greatest of these three things, is because God’s love for us is greater than any of these circumstances. His love for us has motivated him to make a way to put all suffering to an end through his son Jesus. Our HOPE is in God’s GREAT LOVE for us.

My Prayer for You I thank you Father God, that your great love for us is greater than any circumstance that comes against us. I ask that you would provide for each of us as we face what can seem hopeless in our lives. I ask for financial provision, safe places to live, and protection from this virus. You provided your son Jesus so that we could be with you, would you help us to have and assured HOPE in that promise. Amen.
